The Voice talenten strijden tijdens Nationaal Songfestival voor plekje op Eurovisie Songfestival
Vanavond zendt de TROS het Nationaal Songfestival uit. De winnaar vertegenwoordigt over drie maanden Nederland op het Eurovisie Songfestival in Azerbeidzjan. Vier van de zes kandidaten hebben vorig jaar meegedaan aan The Voice of Holland. Producent John de Mol bedacht The Voice en produceert dit jaar het Nationaal Songfestival, dus helemaal toeval zal dit niet zijn. Het Eurovisie Songfestival is zelden van wereldniveau, en dus maken deze ex The Voice talenten zeker kans. De deelnemers zijn Raffaëla Paton (Chocolatte), Tim Douwsma (Undercover Lover), Joan Franka (You and Me), Ivan Peroti (Take me as I am, geschreven door Alain Clark), Pearl Jozefzoon (We can Overcome) en Kim de Boer (Children of the World). De vakjury bestaat uit Carlo Boszhard, Ali B, Afrojack, Stacey Rookhuizen en Jeroen Nieuwenhuize. Allemaal Eurovisie Songfestival kenners, maar niet heus, dus de kans op succes is weer groter! In de eerste ronde strijden de kandidaten in zangduels tegen elkaar. De drie winnaars gaan door naar de finale. De jury en het Nederlandse publiek bepalen elk voor de helft wie de winnaar is. Pearl Jozefzoon kan wat ons betreft het allerbeste zingen, en Joan Franka heeft zeker een heel leuk nummer. Terechte winnaar vanavond? Dit jaar gaat het dan eindelijk wel lukken?
Joan Franka gaat Nederland dit jaar vertegenwoordigen op het Eurovisie Songfestival in Azerbeidzjan. Franka kreeg met het nummer You and me in totaal de meeste stemmen van het publiek en een vakjury. Met een overweldigende meerderheid zelfs, zodat Joan Franka uiteindelijk wordt afgevaardigd naar Baku in Azerbeidzjan voor het Eurovisie Songfestival. Hoera!
